About

moanlog is an experimental site where we encourage everyone to let out any 'gripes' they may have. You can moan about anything you wish. From your neighbour who has sex too loud or perhaps an intermittent glitch on your new mobile phone that is driving you mad. moanlog is here for you to release and to moan about the things that you might be too reserved to reveal anywhere else.

moanlog was put together by three people - Gaurav, Pascal and Max - who had the desire to create a simple intuitive site that makes letting it out as easy as possible. We're not a 'startup' looking to create a quick buck and we're not a business. We're just three bored guys with no revenue model and no plans of being the next Google. We're just doing our thing.

The original concept and design was put together by Gaurav, who now sits atop a tower as the project leader and throws commands around like they're going out of fashion. The backend was built whilst ingesting copious amounts of nicotine and caffeine by Pascal, using CodeIgniter. Whereas the frontend was crafted to perfection by Max after months of persistent nagging from Gaurav.

Many of you might believe that moanlog is a simple Group Hug clone. This is not the case and we encourage people to submit their confessions there instead of using moanlog.

We have implemented the moanblog where we plan to interact with our users, ask questions and get feedback on the site. We also encourage people to participate in our IRC chatroom; everyone is welcome!

Gaurav Patel

Gaurav is a Computer Science student residing in London who enjoys creating various things in Photoshop at the hobbyist level. He has worked on such things as abstract digital art (which can be found easily enough if you care enough to look) and intricate design mockups. His involvement with moanlog includes coming up with the concept, being responsible for the look and feel of the site, and managing the project.

He has a burning desire to help people, which can be attested by his involvement in the voluntary sector. He has helped various charity organisations around the London area for nearly 2 years in such fields as IT administration and teaching.

Pascal

pascal@this domain

Pascal is the fully self taught coder responsible for creating the entire backend of moanlog, not to mention the daily maintenance of keeping the site fully functional and running. When you click that submit button and see your moan display in the list, you've got our man Pascal to thank for that.

Max Glenister

max@this domain

Although he claims a disdain for salmon, the design for moanlog was implemented using standards compliant CSS and XHTML by Max. When not fooling around with web design, or Gaurav's strict idea regime, he is working on all sorts of other creative projects while procrastinating with his real work. Max likes long walks on the beach, writing his own CMS, and hates tables.

Ryan Eames

ryan@this domain

A latecomer to the moanlog team, Ryan is not a wonder coder or an uber designer but simply an author in training who brings over a decade of experience to the team. Ryan first began scribbling when eleven years old and has written nearly every evening since. He is mostly self-taught, which has created some interesting grammatical habits and new words.

When not assisting Gaurav on the text upkeep of moanlog, he enjoys working on his detective novels and finding new music to help keep him in the moment. He has an extreme love for inconsequential comedy and laughs almost more than he breathes.
